Speaker Isolation

Primacoustic offers a choice in loudspeaker isolation products to suit various needs and budgets. For the enthusiast and home studio, the IsoWedge provides a cost effective means of eliminating disruptive loudspeaker resonance from vibrating into the shelf or stand.

For the professional studio, post production and broadcaster, the Recoil Stabilizer introduces a mass component into the design that both isolates and stabilizes the loudspeaker for improved transient response. This delivers a more consistent recording and improves translation when playing back material in different rooms and on different sound systems.

Improves transient response and imaging

Tightens up the bass for greater accuracy

Eliminates resonance and phase anomalies

Improves translation to other audio systems

Recoil Stabilizer Specifications

The Recoil Stabilizer is a nearfield monitor platform that incorporates four different elements to create the whole. This includes:

Arriving models: RX5 HF, UF, DF & RX7 HF, UF, DF
( HF: Horizontal Fire , UF: UP Fire, DF: Down Fire)

1)Isolation foam

High density open cell acoustic foam provides acoustic isolation to eliminate coupling between the loudspeaker and shelf.
2)Steel platform
Laser cut ¼” (6mm) steel platform adds the necessary stabilizing mass to rigidly hold the nearfield monitor in place.
3)Curved front panel
Curved front panel eliminates standing waves and adds mass to the platform without increasing the footprint.
4)Retention pad
Thin no-slip neoprene surface ecures the nearfield monitor to the top surface for maximum signal transfer.

Recoil Stabilizers are available in a variety of sizes and weights to coincide with various monitors being produced today. We have produced a cross reference chart to help you select the right Recoil Stabilizer for your monitors.

Which model to choose?
After extensive listening tests, we have found that a 4:1 ratio is the minimum mass required to properly stabilize a monitor. So if you have a nearfield monitor that weighs 20lbs (8kg), you would select a Recoil that has a mass that is no less than ¼ the weight or 5lbs (2kg). To make selection as easy as possible, we have also provided a cross reference that is sorted by manufacturer and model.

1) RX5 Max laod limit: 15kg Dim: 190 x 241 mm
    RX7 Max load limit:  20kg Dim: 263 x 330mm

2) H or UF or DF?   Studio Desk: Up Fire                                                                                                                 Monitor Stands: Horizontal Fire

Primacoustic Primafoam Kit 12 (Arriving!!)

Complete home studio in a box

Made from high density 1.8 lb open cell foam

Anechoic wedge design provides a high-tech look

Includes everything you need for installation
Primafoam Z12 Room Kit Fits rooms from 100 to 120 sq./ft. (10 to 11 sq./meters)
Primafoam Z14 Room Kit Fits room from 140 to 160 sq./ft. (13 to 15 sq./meters)
The Primafoam Z12 and Z14 kits offer the home recording enthusiast a simple and effective way to turn any small room into a functional recording and mixing environment. These kits include a variety of wall treatments to solve the most common acoustic problems found in home studios. The Z14 includes the same number of components as the Z12 kit plus an additional pair of Australis Bass Traps for increased low frequency absorption in slightly larger rooms. All foam components are precision cut to produce sharp, uniform lines and can be arranged in a variety of wall patterns to create effective acoustic control with a unique look.

The Z12 includes 54 open cell polyurethane acoustic foam components. Three inch thick Z-Foam and Wedge components provide effective mid and high frequency absorption (500Hz and up) to control primary reflections and flutter echo, Scandia Scatter Blocks provide an effective Soft Diffusion™ solution for rear wall reflections, and the Australis Bass Traps provide low frequency absorption.

Once installed, your Primafoam room kit will reduce listening fatigue, improve spectral balance and imaging, enlarge the sweet spot, and allow you to hear your music accurately. Kits include mounting adhesive as well as Impaler clips for the Australis Bass Traps. All Primafoam components are produced in a UV resistant dark charcoal finish to reduce discoloration over time, and have been tested to comply with the California C-117 Fire and Safety specification.

Z- Foam Panels (Thickness: 3" (7.6cm))

Cost effective solution for the home studio

Made from high density 1.8 lb open cell foam

UV resistant dark charcoal finish reduces fading

Adheres to California C-117 fire & safety specification

Primafoam panels are a range of traditional high-density foam panels designed with the budget-conscious home studio and practice space in mind.

W- Foam Panels (Thickness: 2" (5.1cm))
Made from 1.8lb per cubic foot high-density polyurethane foam, Primafoam panels provide excellent mid and high frequency absorption. When combined with the Australis bass traps, it is possible for any room to be neutral and balanced throughout the audio listening range. Primafoam panels are finished in a UV resistant dark charcoal that helps to reduce fading over time, and are available in a variety of shapes and finishes to suit any design.

Installation is quick and simple using the included adhesive to mount the panels directly on the wall surface. If a temporary installation is favored, or if you don’t wish to mar your wall surfaces, simply adhere the panels to corrugated plastic or cardboard and tack to the wall using finishing nails. Primafoam panels are available as small Scandia™ Scatter Block wedges, 2” thick convoluted W-Foam™ sheets, and 3” thick Z-Foam™ Columns with a unique anechoic wedge styled pattern.

All Primafoam panels have been tested to comply with the California C-117 Fire and Safety specification, making them suitable for home use.
